Capri: A Little Taste of Italy

Updated: Apr 16

Hamilton (ONT, Canada) is known to be the waterfall capital of the world - so there's no surprise that we have a lot of hidden gems within our city's limits. From fine dining, to escape rooms, haunted properties and historical buildings - it's a city that you truly have to venture to discover. Capri Ristorante is a place just like that.

Capri Ristorante is a family owned Italian restaurant with homemade and authentic foods that will make all of your senses thrilled with excitement. It's nestled within a strip of buildings right in our downtown core on John Street, back in the day known as Hamilton's Little Italy. With it's bright cinema-like sign that captivates people to enter, the aura when you walk through the doors of Capri are welcoming and very friendly. Not to mention, the savory aromas of fresh pizza and pasta. Service is exceptional and the quality of the food is consistently immaculate. They say the most important ingredient in any meal is love - and at Capri, you can taste the love in every bite.

In 1963, Anna Fiorino came to Hamilton from Calabria as a teenager and started working at a newly opened restaurant, called Capri. She honed her craft and loved being able to share a little piece of her up-bringing with the world - and we are very thankful that she did. Many years later, Anna now owns Capri alongside her husband, Genaro, and her son, Salvatore. A restaurant like this, that holds family values at its core, is a place of comfort and flourishment. You feel at home with every visit.

The coolest part about this place? The second floor of Capri Ristorante is a venue called The Blue Grotto. It is lounging at its finest. Featuring a private entrance, stage, bar, TVs, sound systems and has a capacity of 80 people. Whether you're hosting an intimate birthday/party or a business event - you can welcome people into a peaceful and classy environment, with mystical blue glows to set the tone. The designs of this space are purely inspired by the real stone caves in Capri, Italy. A true hidden gem.

Next time you're downtown - be sure to pop in, say hi, and enjoy a little taste of Italy at Capri Ristorante Italiano.
