Wi-Fi hotspots and constant scrolling - but I'm a firm believer that the best connections still happen face-to-face. As a second year radio student (surreal to say out loud) and music enthusiast, I’ve come to appreciate the value of real-world networking. Not just for career growth, but for keeping my soul aligned. Factor in being a mom - and life becomes a beautiful mix of chaos, community and creativity. Here's how I balance it all and why my slow(er) days and painted rocks are just as powerful as playlists, podcasts and being in the studio.
Making Moves in Music - Without Broadcasting Our Every Moves
YES! I am in an industry where live-on-location broadcasts are typical.... but this week I made it a point to really bask in all the energy. I stepped away from the online aspect of things to truly learn and dive into some old-school networking. Witnessing some of the boldest moves in the broadcasting scene. There’s something magnetic about hearing someone’s story without a filter, beat-for-beat in real time. The kind of connection you can’t get from a comment thread - bringing me closer to the right people, the one's who share my passion.
Down Days: The Unexpected Playground
Slow days were hard for me to face in the past. For someone who has always been on the go, with a million things to do, I have learned to take my time and really cherish these little moments. Whether it's a slow week, day or month - it has become our family’s mini escape from all the pressure we face in today's society (hustle culture). Here there lies a very raw, artistic energy that fuels both my creative side and my fun mom side. It's more than just a location or a destination. I can take pride in my motherhood, where I feel totally plugged in - without being online where everyone can tune in. These moments are invite-only.
Rock Painting and Playgrounds, Where Real-Life Meets Joy

Sometimes the most grounding moments come with grass stains and paint/dirt under your nails. This weekend we painted rocks for the garden and hit the park to meet some new playground friends. It’s our little way of spreading unexpected joy. Watching their excitement playing grounders or the floor is lava is better than any algorithm hit. Plus, it’s a great excuse to stay outside and just be together. These are the real luxuries we can never take for granted because time doesn't stop for you to be ready for them to grow up.
A Mother's Day Surprise That Hit Me Right in the Feels
Mother’s Day this year was pure magic. With a little help from someone who really gets me, he surprised me with the most breathtaking bouquet of flowers. Not just your average roses - this bouquet had personality. Think wildflowers, bold colors and textures that felt like an explosion of love. It wasn’t about perfection. It was about knowing me - and honestly, that’s what made it perfect. My little guy also helped me pick out flowers for his grandma. He picked out the most perfect orange daisies because even though it's not his mom, she's mine - and she is where it all started. In this family, we like to add a little love from everyone in everything we do. Family ties with a solid foundation.
Out of the Mix and Into the Moment
What a week! From chatting with locals to kicking off my shoes at the park, the best parts of my life right now are the ones unplugged (if you know me - you know I'd rather live without a phone). That’s where the true stories live, where genuine laughs compile and where core memories resonate. If you’re always chasing online connection then you aren't living a life truly fulfilled. Always remember that your career is an extension of your heart - so look up, reach out and get into the moment. The real world is still full of magic - with a life so full of love, and just in time to peak at the Flower full moon.
Happy Mother's Day!
