BBQ Chicken Wings

Updated: Apr 16

Bold, BBQ flavors will have people dancing at the dinner table! This recipe is a party must-have, great for game-day feasts and summertime holidays. Marinate these wings overnight to lock in those juices and flavors. With this BBQ sauce recipe, you will never have to buy a premade sauce again. Pair with a garden salad topped with feta, sweet potato frites and a nice ice-cold glass of white wine.

Gather Ingredients: Marinade:

  • 3lbs chicken wings

  • 1/2 cup soya sauce

  • 3 tbsp vinegar

  • 1/2 cup olive oil

  • 2 tsp onion powder

  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp pepper

  • (Optional) 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper

BBQ sauce:

  • 1 1/2 cups ketchup

  • 1/3 cup soya sauce

  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar

  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce

  • 1/3 cup brown sugar

  • 2 tbsp mustard

  • 1 tbsp paprika

  • 2 tsp onion powder

  • 1 tsp black pepper

  • 1/2 cup water

  • 4 garlic cloves, minced

Let's Get Mixing:

  1. Place chicken wings in a larger Ziploc bag or in a large mixing bowl.

  2. Combine all marinade ingredients and shake well, massaging the wings so the dressing can seep down into every crevasse for full flavor. Marinate 4 hours or overnight.

  3. Heat grill or oven to 350 degrees.

  4. Combine all BBQ sauce ingredients in a saucepan on med-high heat and bring just to a boil. Turn heat down to medium-low heat and let simmer 30 minutes, or until desired consistency.

  5. Oil the roasting pan or grill plates to avoid sticking, cooking 10/15 minutes on each side until skin is brown and juices run clear. Internal chicken temperatures should be 165 degrees F.

  6. Let chicken rest for a few minutes and then toss in the prepared BBQ sauce.

  7. Serve with your pairings of choice - and bon appetite! *Chicken is a great source of protein and rich in natural minerals/vitamins that support overall health and boost natural immunity.
